>> Obtaining Permission

How long does it take to get permission?

It depends on the play and where you're located. Many applications will receive immediate licenses by e-mail. Others will require review, and during our busier times of the year, a two-week response time is not unusual. For all applications that require review, notification will come by regular mail. Producers in some areas of the country (like the Dakotas) are always going to have an easier time of it, while others (in places like the Bay area) will have to be more patient. We send all our responses by e-mail or mail. Many of you ask us to call or fax you with an immediate answer, and we try to accommodate those requests when possible. The problem is that the volume of inquiries for rights often prohibits an immediate response. To ensure fastest service, your best bet is to submit your application online using our Nonprofessional or Professional applications.
