THE STORY: In BITS AND PIECES, a brilliant young professor dies and wills virtually all of his organs to be transplanted—an act that leaves his widow perplexed and unsatisfied, especially at the funeral for his few remains. She bribes the doctor for a list of recipients, and sets out on a quest for the bits and pieces of her husband, and of their life together.
Winner of the Obie Award.
This marvelously inventive, offbeat play blends flashbacks and present action in recounting the saga of a young widow who visits all those to whom her late husband’s vital parts have been donated.
